What I Watched in September 2023

The only film I saw in the theater last month was a screening of William Friedkin's amazing SORCERER (1977) so I'll just present the list and plead a lack of time.

The List

AND SOON THE DARKNESS (1974) – 7 (well done thriller from creators of The Avengers)
IL GIOKO (a.k.a. The Game) (1989) – 5 (Lamberto Bava Italian TV movie)
TARZAN THE MAGNIFICENT (1960) – 7 (rewatch)
COUNT DRACULA (1977) – 7 (BBC Louis Jordan version)
FRANKENSTEIN 80 (1972) – 4 (rewatch on Blu) (an entertaining, silly mess)
DR. JEKYLL VS THE WOLFMAN (1972) – 8 (rewatch)
BANDIT RANGER (1942) – 6 (above average Tim Holt B-western)
THE NAKED CAGE (1986) – 4 (sloppy, poorly directed but it has the exploitation stuff)
SORCERER (1977) – 9 (rewatch on the big screen)
CINCO DE MAYO (2013) – 3 (pretty terrible comedy/horror)
THE SHARE OUT (1962) – 6 (rewatch) (Edgar Wallace adaptation)
THE NYLON NOOSE (1963) – 6 (interesting krimi)
THE BLACK PIT OF DR. M (1959) – 7 (rewatch on Blu)
CRIMES OF THE FUTURE (2022) – 7
SAVAGE HARVEST (1994) – 6 (pretty darned good shot-on-video horror tale)
PIRATES OF THE PRAIRIE (1942) – 6 (solid Tim Hold B-western)
GUNGALA, THE BLACK PANTHER GIRL (1968) – 5 (Italian jungle girl adventure)
CALTIKI, THE IMMORTAL MONSTER (1959) – 8 (rewatch on Blu)
DAGON (2001) – 4 (rewatch – still don’t enjoy it)
FURY OF ACHILLES (1962) – 7 (very entertaining version of the siege of Troy)
THE FOREST OF THE WOLF (1970) – 7 (Spanish tale of a 19th century serial killer thought to have lycanthropy)
THE POPE'S EXORCIST (2023) - 7
THE NICE GUYS (2016) - 8 (rewatch)
COLD SKIN (2017) – 7 (excellent creature feature)
THE MONSTER OF THE OPERA (1964) – 7 (strange Italian gothic with a vampire)
ACACIA (2003) – 6 (slow paced creeper from Korea)
SWEET SIXTEEN (1983) – 6 (slightly clumsy slasher)
THE NUN (2018) – 5 (gorgeous and well-paced but it feels like a retread)
