I'm a big fan of the old HBO show. It hasn't aged as well as I wish it might have but it's over the top style was going to be a rough sell after the fact no matter what. I still think most episodes hold up as what they were intended to be and at it's best the show was brilliant.
In my eyes the show has aged well. It's over the top style is part of being derived from comic books. All of the seasons have their strengths and weaknesses, except the final season. For you, how does it's over the top style not hold up. Also, what are your favorite and least favorite episodes?
I think that often the garishness of the visuals are a bit too much for some of the tales. I also kind of wish they were mostly set in the 1950's of the original comics, but I'm strange.
As for favorite episodes - Cutting Cards is excellent; Collection Complete; The Reluctant Vampire; Werewolf Concerto; And All Through the House is probably my favorite of the series.
