THE FIGHTING PRINCE OF DONEGAL (1966) Poster Art

This is one of the lesser known Disney films produced in the UK during the 1960s. It seems that making these live action adventures was a way to keep from paying taxes on a chunk of the profits Disney made in that country. For viewers it meant a series of rousing historical action movies that kids and adults could enjoy. This is probably the weakest of them but I still found it well worth the watch.

Happy Birthday Tarzan of the Apes!

Today is the anniversary of when "Tarzan of the Apes" by Edgar Rice Burroughs first hit the newsstands in the October 1912 issue of The All-Story pulp magazine! There seems to be some thought among scholars that the true release date might be September 10, 1912 but I'll just celebrate both days and be happy.
