I was reminded today of the hysterical faux trailer for PRICKLEY HEAT from SCTV. I can still remember seeing it for the first time back in '81 with several members of my family gathered around the television. SCTV was must see viewing for us and we all nearly laughed ourselves off the furniture as the madness played out.

I'm giggling about it again! The writing on that show was incredible.

I rewatched this odd film tonight and on second view I think I can say that I like it. It is off-balance to say the least but Richard Harris sells every scene and the satiric elements struck me as funnier this time than last. It is not for everyone but there is something about it that I find endearing.

Have you ever been so sure that you have already seen a movie that you tell others that you saw it years ago? And then you watch the trailer and realize that you were probably wrong? Because nothing looks familiar for a full minute and twenty-seven seconds. Guess I need to check this off my 'to watch' list and then go podcast about it!

I know this is going to be a strange Halloween for all of us but keep safe and try to enjoy it as best you can. Hopefully by next year we can get back to our usual shenanigan's! 

It does suck that the year the holiday falls on a Saturday we all have to crouch inside to avoid making a freaking pandemic worse.

Rewatched this for the umpteenth time last night and remembered why I love it so much! The first head crushing mummy! Did Paul Naschy take his monster's signature move from this film? 

And I really enjoyed Kat Ellinger's video talk on the British Blu-Ray about the lovely lead actress Jeanne Roland. I had not realized how unfortunately short her film career had been or that she was dubbed in this one!
