Frankenstein '80 is a pretty poor film. I'd like to hear your thoughts it.

Ah, but the score is awesome! Haven't seen it years but thought it was awful when I watched it. I've been getting the urge to see it again....

This one tried to be an erotic Frankenstein movie and didn't work. Lady Frankenstein is the only erotic one I enjoy. I would rank this in the bottom 5 worst Frankenstein movies I've seen. What are the worst Frankenstein movies off the top of your head?

I really enjoyed this mix, am a huge fan of Morriconne, Micalizzi, Nicolai, Hayes, think John Carpenter's theme for ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK is a brilliant work that will never get too much play, but, dude, I have got to tell you: that dancing-with-Captain-Steubing-in-the-ballroom-of-the-Loveboat elevator music disco version of the Space 1999 theme, whose original arrangement by Barry Gray is one of my all-time favorite pieces of music, is not only from hunger; it's out-and-out sacrilege. The weighty intensity of the original, which featured electric guitars as well as a full orchestra, is completely undermined by pedestrian instrumentation. It urinates on my childhood. Seriously did love the rest of the episode, though...

Off the top of my head the worst Frankenstein movies I've seen are
1. I, FRANKENSTEIN
2. Al Adamson's DRACULA VS FRANKENSTEIN
3. BLACKENSTEIN -what a terrible score!

Blaise- Sorry! I know that version of the Space:1999 theme is - nontraditional, let's say - and not as great as the original but I still get a kick out it. In fact, I love hearing cover versions of TV theme songs of all types. And count me as one of the sad ones that miss them! There are now almost no new TV theme songs. Only on cable or NetFlix do shows have theme music anymore and it pisses me off.

Excellent selection of music. I have no idea whether Frankenstein 80 is a good film or not but its soundtrack should be arrested for murder because it's a fricking killer! Glad to see the underrated Franco Micalizzi represented, his Syndicate Sadists theme is a real favourite of mine. Think I'm going to have to pick up the Escape From New York OST too, great to hear that again.

I now offer you the unique opportunity of putting me out of my misery; what the hell is the piece of music that appears directly before the controversial Space 1999 theme? I must know!

The tune right before the Spce: 1999 cover is the Theme from the TV show The Saint by Cyril Stapleton. Is that what you were wondering?

Could be wrong, but I feel like there is some other snippet in between those two, The Saint and Space 1999, which I sort of recognized but could not place that is driving me nuts, as well. Unless it is some sort of intro to that version of the Space theme.

After hours of head-scratching and YouTube trawling I can finally tell you that the mystery tune is the theme to The Tomorrow People, which I haven't heard since about 1978. So thanks for the memories Rod, whether it was intentional or not!

Whoa! I slipped The Tomorrow PEople into the mix and didn't remember to note it? Crap! Sorry for the mistake. I'm usually more diligent as I know what its like to have a tune bugging you for days.
