I'm a huge fan of the third adaptation of Jack Finney's
novel The Body Snatchers. Even among the genre fans that are aware of it at all
it seems to get little respect resting almost hidden in the shadow of the
admittedly superior 1956 and 1978 versions. But Able Ferra's film has much to
recommend it and I'm gratified to note that no less a film writer than Roger Ebert also found it to be a fantastic science fiction/horror film. If you have
never seen it, this is the perfect time. Now if it would only come out
on Blu-Ray.....
