QUATERMASS 2 web site

If you go here you'll find an amazing thing- an entire website dedicated to the original 1955 TV serial and subsequent 1957 Hammer movie version of Nigel Kneale's QUATERMASS 2. As stated on the home page "Quatermass 2 is considered by many to be the lesser of the Quatermass stories, we think differently." Regardless of whether you think its the best or the least of the tales this is a great site packed with information including a production rundown, synopsis, info on the cast & crew, poster art, images from the comic book adaptation and lots more. For fans of Quatermass its a must view.

I've always been able to appreciate the film's SF story, but Brian Donlevy's Quatermass is such an asshole to everybody that I always hope he'll get killed -- or that at least one of the other characters he rudely snaps at will finally buck up and forcefully tell him to eat the peanuts out of their stool.

I know Dr. Q isn't supposed to be some cuddly, lovable grandfather type, but Donlevy's portrayal is simply insufferable. I much prefer Andrew Kier in QUATERMASS AND THE PIT.

Oh yeah- I much prefer QUATERMASS & THE PIT as well for a host of reasons but I'm always glad to see fans trumpet their love for Kneale's stuff in any form.

Thanks for the plug. My site needs some work doing, but I have other commitments right now. I may get time next year to complete it.
